Practical preparation for major disaster situations

08.04.2026 -

The University Clinic for Anesthesiology & Intensive Care Medicine in Magdeburg invites you to a two-day event on the topic “Learning from Emergencies – Preparing for Large-Scale Disasters.” The goal is to prepare medical staff for complex and life-threatening emergency situations: from a terrorist attack in the city to clinical triage.

The training will take place on April 17 and 18, 2026 in Lecture Hall 7, Leipziger Straße 44, 39120 Magdeburg.

The program for the two-day event features practical lectures, training sessions, and interactive exercises. On the first day, the focus is on an introduction to managing large-scale disasters, establishing disaster and emergency response structures, emergency care procedures, patient care, and communication with family members.

On the second day, these topics will be reviewed; strategies for prioritizing patients and clinical emergency plans will be discussed; the handling of life-threatening situations will be explored in greater depth; and practical exercises on organizing incident sites will be conducted. Further information is available in the flyer.
